Terms of Use.
Effective June 2026. Instill is in early Beta — these terms will evolve with the product. We'll mark the date when they change.
What this is.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and the operators of Instill (“Instill,” “we,” or “us”) governing your use of the Instill website, applications, and services (collectively, the “Service”).
Instill is currently operated as an early-Beta project and does not have a separate legal entity at this time. References to “Instill” in these Terms refer to the team operating the Service, reachable at hello@instill.expert.
By creating an account, accessing the Service, or paying for any offering, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
The Service is in early Beta.
Instill is currently offered as an early Beta. That means: features may change, break, or be removed without notice; data you produce may be migrated or, in rare cases, lost; uptime is best-effort and there are no service-level commitments.
We provide the Service on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. By using the Service during Beta, you accept that it may not meet your expectations of a finished product.
Who can use Instill.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.
You are responsible for the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly at hello@instill.expert if you suspect unauthorized access.
Some parts of the Service (for example, expert onboarding) are invitation-only. We may grant or revoke access in our discretion.
What you bring, what we may use.
You retain ownership of the inputs you submit and the materials you produce through the Service (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, process, transmit, display, and create derivative copies of Your Content solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant this licence and that Your Content does not infringe any third party's rights or violate any law.
How the marketplace works.
Experts publish agents that carry their methods and judgment. Outputs generated by an agent are labelled with their provenance — agent-authored, expert-verified, or expert-revised. Instill is a platform that facilitates these engagements; the underlying judgment, advice, and deliverables remain the work of the expert and their agent.
Nothing produced through the Service constitutes legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice unless an expert explicitly represents otherwise. You are responsible for evaluating fitness for your own purpose.
What you may not do.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful, infringing, or harmful purpose.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape at scale, or extract the underlying models, prompts, or training material.
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts.
- Use the Service to harass experts, misrepresent their work, or impersonate any person.
- Submit content that is illegal, defamatory, hateful, or violates the privacy or intellectual-property rights of others.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these rules.
Billing and refunds.
Payments for paid offerings are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited (“Paddle”), which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle's terms and privacy notices apply to the transaction alongside ours. You can review them at paddle.com/legal.
Prices, currencies, and applicable taxes are shown at checkout. During Beta, pricing and offerings may change; changes will not apply retroactively to a transaction you have already completed.
Refunds and cancellations
Our default refund stance is generous because Instill is in early Beta and we'd rather refund a borderline case than have you feel stuck.
14-day money-back guarantee. On any first-time purchase you can request a full refund within 14 days of payment, no questions asked.
Subscriptions. You can cancel at any time. Your access continues to the end of the current billing period. After the 14-day window we do not provide pro-rated refunds for the unused portion of a period.
One-time engagements with an expert agent. You can request a refund at any point before the agent has started work on your brief. Once the agent has produced a deliverable and it has been made available to you, the engagement is treated as services rendered and is not refundable — except under the service-failure clause below.
Service failures. If the Service is broken, an agent is unable to deliver, an expert is unreachable when the engagement requires their judgment, or there is a technical failure on our side that prevents you from using what you paid for, we will refund you in full regardless of timing.
How to request a refund. Email hello@instill.expert with the order or transaction ID and a short note on what happened. Approved refunds are processed through Paddle and typically return to your original payment method within 5–10 business days.
Beta caveat. During Beta, we may extend more generous terms than this policy requires. Where a situation is genuinely ambiguous, we will err on the side of trust.
This policy is also published as a standalone page at /refunds.
When access ends.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access — particularly during Beta — if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service, other users, or our business.
Where reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to export Your Content before deletion. Some data may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (see our Privacy Policy).
No warranties.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or uninterrupted operation.
Agents produce probabilistic outputs. They can be wrong, incomplete, or unsuitable. Always apply your own judgment before relying on them.
Limitation of liability.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the operators of Instill nor anyone acting on our behalf will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. If you have paid us nothing in that period, our aggregate liability is limited to the equivalent of USD 100.
Your responsibilities.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operators of Instill from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third-party rights.
When these Terms change.
We may update these Terms from time to time as the product evolves or the law requires. Material changes will be communicated by updating the effective date and, where appropriate, by notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If something goes wrong.
We hope you never need this section. If a dispute arises, please write to us first at hello@instill.expert and give us a reasonable opportunity to address it. Most issues are resolved this way.
Because Instill does not yet operate through a formal legal entity or a fixed jurisdiction, no specific governing law or venue is designated by these Terms. Where you live and the applicable consumer-protection laws of your jurisdiction will generally determine your rights. We will update this section once a legal entity is in place.
Payment-specific disputes (refunds, chargebacks, taxes) are handled through Paddle as Merchant of Record and are subject to Paddle's buyer terms.
How to reach us.
Questions, notices, or correspondence relating to these Terms can be sent to hello@instill.expert.
